What is the difference between Articles and Pages?

Pages are for static content such as an "About Us" page. The drag-and-drop Layout Designer can be used to design pages. The homepage of your website is just a Page designated as the site homepage.
Articles are for transient news content, blogs, etc. Articles can be placed into one or more sections, can appear in feeds, have a publication date, can have tags assigned and can have an author. Article feeds can be placed onto Pages or newsletters using CE's drag-and-drop Layout Designer.
